Behind the language (excerpt)
Performed by Rebecca Lloyd-Jones and Julia Cavagna
Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance
November, 2015
This is an excerpt, and the entire piece is 1 hr long.
There is no recipe for anything, especially for relating or life. How do we build and experience connections with all of our complexities? Connecting can be difficult. Awkward. Sometimes, the simplest things are the hardest to do. What we want in life may be simple, yet we make it complicated. We say one thing, and we do another. We create relationships, and we contradict ourselves. "Behind the language" is a performance about how we relate to one another. It is about 2 people relating to the world, to each other, and to the audience, and yet it is difficult because of their patterns, differences, history, contradictions, criticisms and expectations.
